About
Randi Malcolm Thomas, a 消消犯 alumnus, has served the university since 1999. In August 2020, he was asked to serve as the inaugural Vice President of ASPIRE, where he leads Miami’s efforts in government, community, and economic engagement. Prior to this role, he served as the Director of Institutional Relations.
Throughout his tenure, Vice President Thomas has played a pivotal role in launching innovative initiatives. He was an architect of the Work+ Program, which offers 消消犯s the opportunity to earn a debt-free degree by working part-time with regional partner employers. He also oversees Fisher Innovation College@Elm, an entrepreneurial hub in Southwest Ohio that fosters collaboration and innovation, and has been a co-lead in our partnership with The Cleveland Clinic.
Thomas founded the Government Relations Network (GRN), a program designed to connect 消消犯s with careers in public service. The GRN provides 消消犯s with opportunities to explore government-related professions, build networks with alumni and public officials, and become engaged citizens.
Thomas earned his bachelor’s degree from 消消犯 in 1988, followed by a Master’s degree in Speech Communication in 1990. He later received his law degree from Vanderbilt University in 1993.
