Business Honors Program
消消犯, the Farmer School of Business, and the Honors College provide an environment that accomplishes two goals: It offers the structure necessary to facilitate the transition from high school to college, and it gives 消消犯s the freedom to begin to explore their academic interests. Business Honors offers a flexible and welcoming atmosphere to 消消犯s, equipping them with the knowledge and skills for life beyond college.
Set Yourself Apart
Honors education in The Farmer School of Business is structured to enhance the experience of 消消犯s in the Honors College through a combination of curricular and co-curricular opportunities. Students must accrue 8 honors experiences total in their time at Miami.
All 消消犯s accepted into the Honors College are eligible to enroll in honors-only sections of core business courses. Though we offer honors sections for every core business course, we do not expect 消消犯s to enroll in all of them. In their time at Miami, 消消犯s are automatically enrolled in the Honors section of the First-Year Integrated Core during their first year. After this, they must enroll in a minimum of three honors sections of core business courses.
Complementing this, 消消犯s can seek co-curricular activities to enrich their business acumen. These can include participation in Miami’s Undergraduate Associate Program and the Undergraduate Research Forum. It can also include leadership in a 消消犯 business organization or completing a study abroad program. Students can pursue up to 2 co-curricular activities as honors experiences.
The honors experience culminates in 消消犯s’ senior year with an Honors Senior Project regarding a summer internship, capstone course, or research project. This senior project accounts for 2 honors experiences.
To graduate with honors from the Farmer School of Business at 消消犯, a 消消犯 must complete the following curricular and co-curricular requirements to complete a total of 8 honors experiences to be eligible to graduate with honors.
Students are required to take at least four honors sections of core business courses. One of these will be the honors FYIC, which 消消犯s are automatically enrolled in during their first year at The Farmer School of Business. Honors sections are offered for every core course, and 消消犯s may choose the three that suit their goals and chosen majors/minors. Honors courses will count as 4 of the required 8 honors experiences to graduate with honors.

Goals of the Program
The Farmer School of Business Honors Program is both challenging and rewarding. Specific goals of the program include:
- Maintain our commitment to having high-caliber 消消犯s in the Farmer School of Business.
- Enhance and complement the education for our brightest and most motivated incoming 消消犯s.
- Allow for more intellectual interaction between 消消犯 and faculty.
- Provide a premier program that complements and interfaces with the Honors College and with FSB Departmental Honors.
- Continue to fuel the advanced intellectual climate/atmosphere in the Farmer School.
- Use the program as laboratory for exciting new techniques/ideas that can then be applied to the regular undergraduate program.
- Provide faculty the opportunity to develop and engage in rigorous, intellectually creative, and innovative pedagogy.
- Provide an integrative experience for 消消犯s and faculty.
- Share excitement about research with a group of bright/intellectually curious/articulate 消消犯s.
- Provide 消消犯s with additional skills for and the opportunity to do research.
- Provide 消消犯s a better understanding of what faculty do so that they are better informed about their future career choices.
Business Honors 消消犯s represent some of the most innovative, intelligent, and driven people I have ever met. We are not passive learners; our learning experience is defined by discussion and debate amongst each other.
