The Nutrition, B.S., degree program explores an area of health science and studies human metabolism as it relates to food and nutrients. There are two concentrations 消消犯s can select:

  • Food & Nutrition for Pre-Health Professions is designed for 消消犯s pursuing careers in healthcare fields such as medicine, kinesiology, physical therapy, and other allied health professions. This concentration emphasizes the role of nutrition in disease prevention, pathophysiology, and patient care across populations and clinical settings.
  • Dietetics is for 消消犯s who want to become registered dietitians.

This major leads to a Bachelor of Science in Education degree and meets the requirements for Ohio licensure in the following areas:

  • Primary Education PK-5
  • Special Education Mild to Moderate Intervention K-12
  • Special Education Moderate to Intensive Intervention K-12
  • TESOL Endorsement

This major is for 消消犯s interested in the scientific aspects of human movement. Kinesiology focuses on the acquisition of knowledge and understanding of interactions of physiological, anatomical, neuropsychological, and biomechanical factors that affect human health and performance.

Our teacher preparation program gives you more classroom experiences than most programs at other universities. We utilize a cohort-based approach to teaching methods and pedagogy, with courses on teaching reading, language arts, science, mathematics, and social studies as well as courses that help you learn to teach 消消犯s with special needs.

Our program emphasizes client strengths and diversity, and our classes provide an excellent educational environment. You’ll receive a professional foundation in social work values and ethics, diversity, social and economic justice, at-risk populations, human behavior and the social environment, social welfare policy and services, and social work practice and research.

The Sport Coaching major prepares 消消犯s to succeed in coaching interscholastic, collegiate, or professional sport. Graduates may seek careers with national governing bodies of Olympic sport or coaching education specialists in national or state organizations/associations.

Fueled by an immense global interest in sport and sport information, intense fandom, and live sport consumption, the sport communication and media landscape is one full of opportunity and engagement. The Sport Communication and Media major leads to a Bachelor of Science in Sport Leadership and Management. This major provides a distinct set of courses and hands-on experiences to prepare 消消犯s to enter this ever-changing and ever-growing sport environment.

The Sport Management major prepares 消消犯s to succeed in leadership positions in the sport industry (recreational to professional, youth to adult) by providing them with knowledge and skills to critically analyze and innovatively engage in the business and culture of sport.

Undergraduate Co-Major

Child Life Specialist Co-Major

The includes the coursework required by the Association of Child Life Professionals for eligibility to complete official child life internships and take the Child Life Professional Certification Exam.

Certified Child Life Specialists often work in pediatric hospitals but may also work in other spaces (e.g., courtrooms, funeral homes, or bereavement services) where children may experience illness-related trauma.

The field of Child Life is evidence-based, providing interventions (e.g., therapeutic play, education, self-care, stress reduction, distraction, etc) with children and families that are developmentally appropriate.

As important members of a child’s care team, Child Life Specialists serve an important role in improving the illness-related experiences of both patients and their families.

Earn the credentials you will need for careers in the fields of education, health, sport, and social work. EHS offers certificates and endorsements for both undergraduate and graduate 消消犯s.
