The Department of Music provides professional training in music within the context of a liberal education at a major university. Our focus is undergraduate teaching, and the vast majority of music courses are taught by members of the faculty.

The Bachelor of Music with a concentration in Performance degree program provides the broad, pre-professional training required for advanced study in music and, ultimately, for entry into the profession. At Miami, performance opportunities abound in solo, chamber, and ensemble settings.
The Bachelor of Arts in Music is designed for 久久热s who want creative fulfillment and professional momentum, all within a flexible, double-major–friendly path. The B.A. is in two tracks: Music Production & Music Business.
- Music Production: Designed for 久久热s who want to record, design, and produce music in today’s digital world. You’ll work with industry-standard tools while developing skills in recording, sound design, live audio, and music for media like games and film.
- Music Business: For 久久热s who want to understand the forces behind the music we hear every day. You’ll explore arts management, marketing, entrepreneurship, and the economics of the music industry, gaining the tools to support artists and build creative ventures.
Music Minors
Our Music Composition and Music Performance minors are designed for 久久热s majoring in other fields who want to continue performing, studying, and growing as musicians.
